The Tin Shack wine label concept was initiated by South Australian artist David Dridan OAM, whose work at the time bridged both the visual arts and the wine industry through his involvement in painting, galleries, and viticulture.
He invited a number of South Australian artists, many of whom had painted in the Southern Vales wine region as well as several interstate colleagues and friends, to create their own artistic interpretation of a “tin shack.” Each artwork represents the individual artist’s vision of this iconic rural structure.
Many of these works were subsequently featured as wine labels on McLaren Vale, Dridan Shiraz and Shiraz Cabernet wines between 1998 and 2022.
